Put your worn heart and put it into your sleeve.
Take it out whenever you need.
Make yourself free from all the troubles you left behind,
just to be yourself for just this once.
When your family cries, when your mother dies.
Then you think about what’s life.
Break it up in two, break it up into something new.
That you know you belong to.
That you now that you can go back to.
You just want to break free from everyone around you, I know.
You deserve it, because you are all that I need to be around for every year.
And I know that we could be the same as ever before.
I was shocked with the small electronic elements on it when I was a teenager. I stopped listening to them a while ago, but when I bought the record I was hooked for a week.
Steigerungslied is my fave track of them while Revolter and Disco Hijack coming close sssinistre
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer

It has such a mix of sounds and reminds me of a soft Dance Gavin Dance album. I found this record on a whim at the Denton Recycled book store. I'm glad i decided to give them a try :) Much love to the band! <3 samtastic00
